Philip is a member of Miller’s Marine, Energy & Transport Liabilities team (METL) and is responsible for negotiating and placing contracts with both London and International markets on behalf on his clients.
Philip has a broad range of experience, handling ports and terminal business and various specialist P&I reinsurances. This includes general liability, maritime employer’s liability, charterer’s liability, cargo owner’s liability, logistics liability, social responsibility insurance and frustrated liability insurance.
He has also placed programmes for both bridge and tunnel construction policies, as well as the insurance for “The Deadliest Catch” programme!
Philip started his career in yacht broking before moving over to focusing on energy and marine liabilities. His previous experience includes boat builder’s packages, US ports and terminals accounts and the reinsurance programme for Japan P&I Association. He joined Miller in October 2008.
Philip is proud of his role as a single Dad, with his son looking to leave home having completed his studies. During this time, Philip was on the PTA and helped run the local football team.
In his spare time, he likes to be outside; whether it be walking, skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding, going to the beach or for a cycle.
