Laura Allenby – Terrorism
Laura started her insurance career at one of the United Kingdom's largest insurance companies where she worked in various departments including engineering, total loss and third party motor claims.
She joined Miller two years ago on the DAPR processing team as a technician and has recently joined the Terrorism team as an Account Handler, where she will focus on the North American territory.
Laura has an Open Degree from the Open University.
Amogh Gupta – Cargo and Stock throughput
Amogh joined Miller as part of the Graduate Scheme in the Special Risks unit on the Cargo and Stock Throughput team as an Account Handler.
He will be working closely with our retail and wholesale intermediaries on North American focused business.
This is his first role in insurance after recently graduating from Loughborough University; he holds a Bachelor’s degree in History.

Amy Delamain – D&O
Amy has recently joined Andy Brett and the DAPR team, focusing on North American professional risks. Prior to joining Miller, she was at a well-known insurance company for three years working on the commercial D&O team.
Amy has over 5 years’ insurance industry experience.
She has a degree in Finance and Investment at Coventry University.

Cecilia Yanez - Professional
Cecilia has recently joined Miller as an Account Handler on the North American Professional Risks team.
Prior to joining Miller, Cecilia was located in Atlanta, GA and spent four years working on a professional risks team for the largest US wholesaler. After relocating to London and joining Miller, Cecilia will handle accounts in the professional indemnity space but more specifically relative to architects, engineers, contractors and manufacturers.
Cecilia has a Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management & Insurance from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC.

Jessica Colbear – Credit and Political Risks - CPRI
Jessica has joined Miller as a Broker/Account Handler in the CPRI team.
She will be working closely with both the Banking and Trader teams to provide prompt, accurate and effective broking and account management directly to clients and the business unit.
Having spent 8.5 years in the Financial and Political Risks team of another Lloyd’s broker, Jessica has built-up client and market facing experience placing Trade Credit, Contract Frustration, Lenders’ Interest, Confiscation, Expropriation, Nationalisation and Deprivation (CEND) on behalf of direct and wholesale clients. Amy Haddon - Property
Amy joined Miller in October 2018 as a Broker within the European Facultative Property team and has joined the North American Property team.
Prior to joining Miller, Amy has held positions at various large companies in the insurance sector. She has extensive experience within the London market, with a predominant focus on the property class of business dealing across various occupancies.
Amy has worked on a wide variety of accounts including complex International placements, which include North American assets as part of wider multinational programs, as well as stand-alone North American placements.
During Amy’s 9 years within the insurance sector she has worked across a number of industry segments including claims, technical support together with Broking multiple classes of business.

Robert Jones – Casualty
Robert has recently joined Miller as an Account Handler/ Broker on the North American Casualty Team.
He spent 4 years at a boutique Lloyd’s broker working on Canadian and US business; predominantly General Liability but also Professional & Financial lines, Property and Terrorism.
Robert has a Bachelors degree in History from Canterbury Christchurch University.

Katie Small – Private Clients
Katie recently joined Miller to head up the new Private Clients team. She specialises in all areas of Private Client risks with a specific focus on complex and/or multi-jurisdictional assets.
Katie started her career in investment banking, working for a leading Dutch bank for the first 10 years of her career, before switching to insurance at the age of 26. She founded MWA, which was a niche Private Client insurance broker with a specific focus on sports, which she subsequently sold to RK Harrison in 2012. Following the sale, she headed up the Private Clients, Rural and Fine Art team within the wider RK Harrison group and undertook the same role on an expanded basis following the Howden acquisition.

Nick Gavin-Powell – Private Clients
Nick recently joined Miller’s Private Clients team, and specialises in making sure the assets of high net worth individuals are insured correctly.
Nick began his insurance career with a leading high-street broker, rising through the ranks to become a Branch Manager, spending eight years leading teams of consultants. He then left to join a leading mutual, before moving to another insurance broker in 2011 that specialised in insuring houses and cars, mainly for footballers. After the company was acquired by a larger broker, Nick would help set-up their new Private Office business to concentrate on the ultra-high-net worth and offshore trust administrators for wealthy clients.
In 2018, he joined a multinational professional services firm to lead their UK Private Client team and was their Head of Private Clients, leading a team of 30 consultants all over the UK and being responsible for their Private Client, Estates, Fine Art and Motor businesses, before joining Miller in 2021.
Nick specialises in making sure clients’ assets are insured correctly, be it their house(s), car collections, fine art or jewellery (as well as much more).

Michelle Suckling – Private Clients
Michelle has recently joined Miller’s Private Clients team, and specialises in identifying the best insurance products to suit the needs of high-net worth clients.
Having worked in the insurance industry for over 20 years, Michelle started out at a high street broker, learning the job from the ground-up. She then moved onto a schemes broker, before joining a high-net worth (HNW) broker in 2011. Following this, Michelle moved onto a role heading a new HNW team within a family-run brokerage, before in 2017 joining a leading multinational general insurance company as their HNW specialist Broker Development Manager (BDM) for the UK.
Michelle’s experience and knowledge of the HNW market enables her to select products that best suit the needs of her clients. She also holds strong relationships in the industry, and has particular expertise in securing home (including overseas) and motor coverage for her HNW clients.

Charlie Simpson – Bermuda
Charlie has recently joined Miller to lead our new platform in Bermuda. He will concentrate on growing the broker’s presence in the key (re)insurance hub by launching a high-quality independent offering, initially focused on reinsurance and insurance-linked securities.
Charlie has over 40 years’ experience in the sector and joins from a large broker where he was most recently Executive Vice President of Non-Marine. Prior to that, he held senior positions at Guy Carpenter, R K Carvill, JLT and BMS Reinsurance.

Erik Manning - Bermuda
Erik will join Miller in Q3 2021 as Head of Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS). He has over 20 years’ experience in the sector and joins from Peak Capital where he was CEO. Prior to that, he was Managing Director at Aon Bermuda and has also held senior roles at Markel Re and Guy Carpenter. Erik holds a Ph.D. from the University of London.
