Following the acquisition of Alston Gayler that we reported in January’s bulletin, some 60+ AG colleagues have now moved over to Miller’s London office, joining various teams within our partnership.
Our North American clients will benefit from greater and enhanced offerings across Cargo, Hull and Marine in particular. We will introduce you to some of the individuals over the coming editions, but for this edition, we focus on our cargo and stock throughput team (STP).
- Our cargo and STP team has almost doubled in size, with five new colleagues bringing over 100 years combined experience.
- Liz Short, Paul Folwell, Peter Barber, Katie West, and Emmy Falvey have all joined.
- Combined we place over USD50M of gross premium into the London market, including one of the market’s largest cargo placements.
- We now have five in-house lineslips to help us place your business with more ease (with USD150m and USD70m limits as well as small business lineslips).
Other new joiners
Separately, as part of our recruitment and expansion, we’ve added two more professionals to the North American team. They specialise in Energy and Construction business.
Thomas De’Ath
Tom De’Ath has joined Energy as an account handler and broker. Tom joins Miller from Talbot Underwriting and he will be working in the energy construction team alongside Georgina Robinson and Andrew Clydesdale. Tom holds the CII Certificate in Insurance and is working towards the Diploma.
Faye Atack
Faye has also joined our Energy team. She specialises in construction and will be working in the onshore energy team with David Spencer and the wider team. Faye began her career in 2014 on the Lloyd’s apprenticeship scheme, with placements in Alesco, Lloyd’s and The Channel Syndicate. She joins from Marsh.
As Ken Crerar pointed out, insurance remains a people business at its core, and we remain committed to attracting and retaining the best talent in the marketplace.
