She started her career in 2005 as a junior underwriting assistant for a Yacht Underwriting Agency, joining Miller in 2008 as a Technician before moving on to be an account handler in 2011 and became an account executive at the start of 2019.

Dawn has the Advanced Diploma in Insurance (ACII), with a BSc (Hons) in biosciences prior to working in insurance.
