He started his insurance career at Willis in their Global Construction team working on international projects, before moving to Royal Dutch Shell for a secondment in 2005. He then began to specialise in Energy and Power Projects across the globe and moved into the Downstream Energy Team. Later he moved to Marsh and led the build out of their US and Canada construction sales team in London, whilst remaining involved in large scale energy projects. He then moved to Lockton to help build out the International Construction Practice before joining Miller in 2024.

In his spare time, James is a keen sportsman and enjoys golf, cricket, rugby, fishing, and pétanque. He also enjoys spending time with his family.
