Miller is excited to be working with the ABI and the Insurance Families Network for a virtual Dive In 2020 event, taking place on Thursday 24 September between 11:00 – 12:00, focussed on the important topic of how employers can help their employees balance work with parenting and caring responsibilities.
COVID-19 has forced the world to overhaul its way of life. In doing so, it’s highlighted the urgent need to address the widening gap between today’s family dynamics and the workplace.
With parents and carers forming 72% of the UK’s workforce and nearly 9 in 10 new dads striving for more parenting time, there’s a strong desire to move away from the traditional roles and expectations that families are still faced with.
But how do we achieve this change? Miller, the ABI and the Insurance Families Network will be taking part in a practical workshop to discuss proactive strategies to help parents and carers achieve fulfilment in both their career and home lives.
This event will explore the key lessons learnt from COVID-19 and how we can integrate these into the new ‘normal’, how evolving workplace policies for working fathers can improve the gender balance and what job sharing success looks like.
We’re excited to be joined by an expert panel, including James Millar (author of ‘Dads don’t babysit’), Debs Ingham (whose work with How do you do it involves helping individuals combine their responsibilities at work and at home successfully) and Jonny Briggs (the Group Head of Talent Acquisition at Aviva).
You’ll also hear from Katy Murray and Chloe Tait, who work together in a job share partnership leading the strategy, planning and delivery of the new ABI job share portal and wider campaign to promote job sharing and flexible working.
