We are excited to share that the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has approved Miller’s near-term science-based emissions reduction target for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, marking a significant milestone in our ESG journey.
We have committed to reduce our scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42% by 2030, using 2022 as our base year. These emissions, encompassing direct emissions from owned or controlled sources, and indirect emissions from the generation of purchased energy, form a substantial part of our total carbon footprint.
Moreover, we have also committed to reduce our absolute scope 3 GHG emissions by 56% per GBP value added within the same timeframe. These scope 3 emissions include all indirect emissions that occur in our value chain, such as business travel.
We’re proud that our near-term reduction targets have been validated by the SBTi. This is a globally recognised initiative that lends technical assistance and expertise to companies setting science-based targets in line with the most up-to-date climate science. Their endorsement of our targets underscores our dedication to tackling climate change.
At Miller, we want to be a part of the creation of a sustainable and inclusive future, where environmental stewardship, social responsibility and good governance are integrated into our business. We strive to be a catalyst for change, minimising our environmental footprint, and promoting diversity and equality. As of now, over 6,000 companies worldwide have joined the SBTi and we are proud to stand amongst these forward-looking organisations.
Miller has been added to the SBTi website as one of the companies taking action against climate change. Click below to find out more:
